Aroom is one of the separate sections or parts of the inside of a building. Rooms have their own walls, ceilings, floors, and doors, and are usually used for particular activities. You can refer to all the people who are in a room asthe room .

1. room的基本意思是“房间,室”,常指单人住户使用的房间,不仅可指住宅楼里,而且也可指公共宿舍,或旅馆里的单元房间,有时还指公共厨房和其他公用设施的房间。是可数名词。
2. room的另一个意思是“空间,地方,余地”,用于比喻时可指“机会”,是抽象名词,不可数,其前不可加冠词,谓语动词应用单数形式。
3. room可用动词不定式作定语,但不可用动名词作定语。
4. rooms还可作“住所”解。the smallest room的意思是“室内的厕所”,多用于英式英语的口语中。

1. room用作动词时意思是“居住,寄住,租住”,仅指睡觉,不包括餐饮与娱乐。
2. room常用作不及物动词,常与介词at, with连用。
